I have noted that several contributors recommended the use of probiotics for controlling diarrhea, where as my clinic has made it clear that only prebiotics (no probiotics) can be taken because the probiotic can lead to infections and sepsis.
What advice does anyone's clinic or doctors have on this subject. Meanwhile keep on keeping on!

@tri327dent I had a liver transplant at Mayo. After a couple of folks suggested a probiotic I checked with my Mayo care team. They told me no for any probiotics. Prebiotics never came up. I am now curious if anyone has asked MAYO about prebiotics as I am required to go by them. If they are letting another transplant patient use prebiotics I will ask my care team too. Thx
