I'm sorry that things are not going the way they should for you and your husband! These people that you are dealing with aren't being nice at all! Have you thought about getting an attorney? I know it can be expensive but at this point it sounds like you need someone to stand up for the both of you. Also who is paying your husband's bills for his stay in this facility? Whether it's Medicare or a private insurance, it might be a good idea to write to them and let them know of the terrible situation that is going on with your husband's treatment and how they won't tell you anything. Between contacting the insurance or Medicare and getting an attorney, you ought to be able to get some decent results to your situation.
I'm sure you do feel lonely and scared. I don't blame you. It's hard to be alone. My husband died of lung cancer two years ago and I still find it hard to be alone.
Tell your husband often how much you love him and I'm sure you do. He won't forget you. I'm sure he loves you too. Just because you didn't have a legal marriage doesn't mean it isn't a moral marriage. You both have loved each other for 39 years. That's wonderful and that's what is important. A legal piece of paper won't change that.
Also put all your problems in God's hands. Tell him everything that's going wrong and he will help you. God doesn't want your husband to be ill and he doesn't want you to be treated badly. God will straighten it all out. He helped me and my husband so many times and we were so glad that God was there for us. He will be there for you two also.
If you need to talk I'm here. Let me know how things go.
God Bless You Both!

Does the facility have a social worker? It sounds like the situation is very complex, but moving to another facility may be better for your husband and you in the long run. Because you made an anonymous complaint, does that mean you can’t redo it? If abuse or neglect is happening, it should be highest priority to be resolved. No facility can afford be charged or proven to be neglectful or abusive. It seems you hold all the cards.
