Hi Gary, thank you for this information about cranberry Juice, and I'm glad your doctor was agreeable. I realize it will take a while before you notice any benefit, but when you have more information to share, we'd love to hear about it. I was diagnosed with JAK2 ET several years ago, and like you, I have decided to avoid taking the hydroxyurea at my current platelet level, and hoping for some low impact breakthroughs in the near future. Of course, this decision isn't the best for everyone. I've read about the benefits of cranberries, pomegranates, beets, omega-3, raw garlic and quinine. For the past few years I have done my best to keep a regular regemen of exercise, a mindful healthy diet, drink cranberry juice, take a daily low dose aspirin, concentrated pomegranate powder, omega-3 fish oil softgels, odorless raw garlic softgels, and so far my platelet count has remained in the 500k range. Who knows for sure if one or all of these are the reason, but I'm happy to continue with this regimen until things change.

@goodcheers As it turned out, the cranberry juice was useless in reducing platelet count, contrary to what I had read about it. So, I discontinued it and have returned to Hydroxyurea.

For some like myself be careful with aspirin and cranberry juice. Both contain salicylic acid. I got severe heartburn.
