My daughter was just diagnosed with lymphocytic colitis after 3 wks diarrhea, severe pain, nausea, and a hospital stay. She was started on budesonide. Any tips for surviving this?

I had similar some years ago and remember the challenges very well.
Budesonide is an antiinflammatory drug that is commonly used with this condition. It’s similar to prednisone but only works inside your intestine.
Was she recently started on it and how is she responding to it? The drug is usually titrated to an effective dosage and one usually stays on it for a while until the inflammation subsides.
In the meantime one has to maintain a good fluid intake to avoid dehydration.
Check with the medical staff what diet restrictions are recommended.
