Draining My Pouch
I have tried using the deodorizer solution as well as oil and I’m still having a problem with a backup above my stoma. Right now I have to work it down and it still isn’t really cleaned.
Any suggestions?

I actually change pouches before I shower each morning, taking it right off and cleaning it out and hang it to dry. It works very well for me.
@pidge32 If I recall correctly, you have a colostomy? How many times do you need to empty a day? If it's not very frequent, perhaps using a closed and disposable bag would make sense for you. I don't have a colostomy so I don't have any experience myself with this. But it would be something to talk with your your wocn about. You could also come to our monthly virtual meeting and ask there.

@piki I want to make sure I am understanding what u r doing. U take pouch off, empty, wash and reuse. If so, do u have an issue with adhesive on pouch adhering to wafer once u reply.
@browndognotnow. I don't actually 'wash' the pouch...I just run hot water through it.
My pouches don't contain any adhesive. I use Coloplast's Sensura Mio pouches with the double click closing, a thin circle of plastic with a closure mechanism which tightens around the opening . I am not familiar with how any other pouch works.
Thanks. Mine are different. I received the type u have; however, because of thumb issues, I was unable to use. Thanks for responding.
