I was diagnosed with ET over 30 years ago (I’m now 73) and started on HU a year or 2 later. Over that time I’ve had no side effects and only had small tweaks to my dosage. I have blood tests every 4 months and see the oncologist annually.

I’m one of those who understood ET was merely a ‘disorder’ and only realized recently that it’s technically cancer. I’ve been going to the Cleveland Clinic (near my home) but I appreciate stumbling across this group and hearing about other’s experiences. ET and UH have had no impact on how I’ve lived my life and I hope all of you here have the same experience.
