Hi, my wife and I are 73 and 71, and honored to be able to take care of our son that will celebrate next month his 50th birthday 🎂
He was born with a complex Congenital Heart problem, he had it repaired initially when he was 8 months old, and had 6 additional open heart surgeries throughout the years. 3 years ago he had a successful heart transplant at the Mayo Clinic just as the other surgeries and treatments. During 2 of his lengthy surgeries he had strokes that has given him challenges in cognitive and neurological abilities. He is a wonderful man and we are happy to have him living with us and to take care of him when needed. I don’t say it’s easy at this stage of our life, but knowing that we need to be here for him gives us the extra stamina and energy to continue with joy and love.
