How do you handle it mentally with so little sleep or is it any easier since you have had this since childhood? I never had anxiety before I stopped sleeping and some days I have both anxiety and depression. I have read some reviews on Ramelteon in which some people state it took a week to help their sleep and some took a month. I would love to know how you are coping although I’m sure the Ativan helped. Any advice is appreciated!

@1oldsoul Thanks and I had been handling it for decades pretty darn good and was ok but now is a different story with multiple nights of zero sleep in a row at times, like right now, 2nd night, no sleep. Yes, the Ativan helped in the beginning, but now as I taper off, it's become ineffective, that's why I may take Mirtazapine, because the Ativan, which was the only thing that helped with this recent worsening is no longer viable. Not sure if that made sense, lol.

@1oldsoul
I also often take Ambien

@1oldsoul I also meant to say Radical Acceptance, meditation, 478 breathing, exercise, eating well, gratitude and lots of humor!
Hasn't been easier per se since I've had since childhood, just have had more time to get used to it so to speak. It's much harder now, maybe because of cumulative effect and being 65 and only getting older. lol
