@mako8 A -3.0 T-score is severe osteoporosis. If that score was taken 2 years ago, your new score today will be even lower. You need to see an endocrinologist. You will most likely need to be on an anabolic - tymlos, forteo, evenity, - and then be at least 2 years on a bisphonophate, like reclast, to keep the gains from the anabolic. Most people who take these drugs do not experience many side effects. I have been taking Tymlos for 14 months and have no side effects. People posting here are much more likely to be the minority of patients who are experiencing the side effects. At the stage you are in if you do not take these drugs, your bones will weaken until they fracture. Fractures will lead to severe disability and chronic pain. Again, I urge you to see an endocrinologist - they will run tests to try to find the underlying cause of your osteoporosis, and then most likely find a drug for you that will give you minimal side effects. Please stop focusing on bad things that may not happen, and focus on how to stop your bones from deteriorating.

@mako8 The Tymlos pen allows you to adjust the dosage downward, which many people do. Forteo doesn't have that.
