Prolia
Hi
I would like to hear from people that have been on prolia a long-term and how it's helped.
I have been on reclast for 4 years I have three fractures in my spine one is 3 years old the other two or two years old I recently woke up with severe back pain and all three vertebrae have collapsed farther I'm really upset. So with my health issues the only medication that I'm able to do now is prolia the injections twice a year I really would like to find out what people have done and how they feel on it

It’s really astonishing how many so called specialists are seemingly out of touch with current recommended protocols…my doctor also suggested last year before starting medication that I could start with Prolia …I went with Tymlos after doing my own research. Unfortunately this seems to be a regular occurrence. That said there are certainly individuals that may require a different approach…

2 Reactions@momo03 I hope you can tolerate the drug well. My wife has not had any bad reactions. Not even sure there are any noted side effects. Good luck!

1 ReactionIs there a reason that Forteo or Tymlos cannot be considered for you ?
@gravity3
It is difficult to switch as acceptance is not automatic. No co- pays with plan F, but no longer available to new enrollees The new best coverage is plan G which has a small deductible. Most supplemental plans to traditional Medicare are pricey and the premium rates keep going up with everything else. Most people go with advantage plans to save on premiums, This is ok when you are younger and healthier, but they are designed to cost more as you age and need more care. $300.00 for a shot every 6 mo. is less than I pay in 1 mo. on Traditional Medicare premium, but Traditional is well worth it if you can swing it!

1 Reaction@gravity3 Do you mean switching from Medicare Advantage to original Medicare? If so, I believe that can be done during the open enrollment period which starts at the end of the year.

Hi
I already tried for tail I can't do it can't take a evenity because I've had a TIA and Tymlos is not available in Canada. I have refraction from radiation treatment for breast cancer otherwise I was doing fantastic I'm a little pissed that my doctor didn't do a CAT scan in 2024 after I refractured and my endocrinologist did not change me to a bone builder
@heisenberg34
Traditional Medicare B and Medigap completely cover Prolia. I will go on it after my year of Evenity injections (also paid for completely). Medicare Advantage is an attempt by the government to privatize Medicare.

I could have been clearer. I was wondering if the cost of the osteoporosis meds would be less expensive for you.
