@myoga I'm not certain how long it takes those bloody cancer cells to die, but I am willing to put up with the side effects and discomfort until those five years are behind me. To me, it's not the worth the risk of one teeny, tiny cell finding purchase and growing into a bloody mass that migrates wherever it wants to go. So far, I've been on Anastrozole for two years, three months and 5 days. That leaves two years, eight months and 24 days to go. I'm up for it.

You misunderstood my conversation with @mir123. I merely ask if AIs lower estrogen levels to zero, then why does it takes 5 years to kill active cancer cells in our body. But that’s a question for doctors/ researchers. We don’t know The answer. I don’t advocate to quit AIs before 5 years.
I have a little over a year to go and expect my onco to extend it to 7 years even though my stage is 1 with no positive lymph node. Then again, keep in mind that AIs do nothing to prevent metastases from dormant cancer cells. Good luck to all of us!
