Starting SBRT Treatments In A Week: What to expect?
Just wondering what to expect……experiences with how long each treatment session typically lasts?
Was at MD Anderson last week for Space Oar procedure and MRI/CT simulation. Little more stressful than I hoped…..while I followed instructions on fluid intake I had way too much in my bladder…..had to release additional 3 separate times so MRI lasted almost 2 hours!
CT scan was an adventure as well …..had bran cereal for breakfast ( totally my fault) which resulted in a lot of gas. Dr had to come in and perform a catheter procedure to release it ……😳😳
Hoping my treatment sessions go smoother!!

So you drink 30oz of water before each treatment? He was told to drink the 30oz before his MRI and CT scan next week. I know he is overwhelmed I so hope he heard directions correctly. I am just a friend to listen when he wants to talk. Thank you.
@miggie
I have 40 radiation treatments. 16 ounces of water about an hour before the treatment. One time out of 40 my water level wasn’t right.
I’m not a few CT scans of my stomach area and was never told to drink a certain amount of water. Strange differences in requirements.
