There are support groups on fb too... regarding hashi and thyroid... so forth.... I have learned a lot this last year... I spent 5 years fighting with Dr an trying get a diagnosis.... but if I could just say one thing first.... don't just try or do something without keeping in touch with Dr.... but after seeing every specialist in my area.... an no Answers.... I did learn from functional Dr.. basically... because my Dr refused to test hormones told me just part of growing old... I had water weight gain went from 150 to 230.... but im down to 160 stand still.... I had to cut sodium to less than 2400 cardiologist told me... I actually got mine to Under 1000mg a day.... I eat fresh fruits an veggies.. no ultra processed foods, no sugars no dyes... my heart burns gone... my ra not inflamed hurting I feel good... an I grow my own sprouts mix Todd's friends an had tons nutrients an good in soups, chili, wraps sandwiches,. . I also learned couple other things while going through journey as seasons change the taste buds going through change too... lol weird I know.... but I would keep a small tablet... keep food journal, an write everything eat, drink, exercise, how feel, an when bathroom.... how feel... an might find a pattern... I learned that no gluten for me... inflammation with cause tinnitus to ring more than usual.... rings so loud in left ear I can't hear in my right ear.... I learned put earbud in there play music it tones it down.... but once I got my diet balanced out... gluten also in some meats... an paper plates... check see how sensitive you are I learned I had get rid of it all... an best for me was hormone free meats... white chicken best also a antihistamines...
I haven't had dairy in 30 years.... but need probiotics.. I learned that making my own sauerkraut and I don't cook it has awesome probiotics... takes 4-6 weeks to make pending tastes... but all you need some distilled water an salt tbsp with every pound....now when ready... 2 tbspn a day don't cook.. just eat... don't double dip, keep bacteria good... but when ready to taste can put in fridge..... but fiber, awesome probiotics and heals gut health... first time in my life I don't have bloated gut anymore.... but keep track what you do...

also, do you take vitamins? An then feel like they don't work... see where your homocystien levels at if you have mthfr gene mutation.... I learned I needed b12 methylcobalmin... an since I take that my levels evening out.... then even though you do this you still er caution with gluten an dairy... an find your triggers.... if I have pop I get very tired... so I make kombucha now fizz too. An I actually use green tea an local raw honey instead sugar... sooo good.... other thing lots will say don't eat night shades.. I can't cut out tomatoes... I love em too much... but in moderation... smaller portions I'm ok.... not sure how you are with sauerkraut... I would start there... if buying.. that's canned... it's killed the good bacteria.. i hope this helps....
2 years ago... i drive to store.. fall asleep in vehicle.. brain fog, forgetful.. anxieties worse almost amplified couldn't even walk across street get mail... now I can walk... 5 miles 2 to3 times a day.... brain fog gone... memory better... my audhd has improved.... hope this helps... might have to reread.. I am deaf/hoh as well so my writing not the greatest... i apologize... hugz... best of luck...

@epalbright72 Welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect! You have given lots of helpful information.Did an illness prompt you to get so involved in caring for your health? Lots of good information. Thank you!

We should all take note of your line:
I can't cut out tomatoes... I love em too much... but in moderation... smaller portions I'm ok.
That's the key to it all. You don't necessarily have to cut out everything you enjoy. I'm not supposed to eat black licorice because of the cardiac effect but if I stick to the minimum serving size on the bag, I can still enjoy it in moderation without any effect. Many things that are bad for us if we overindulge are okay in moderation. Maybe that bowl of ice cream is not good for you but maybe an occasional scoop is okay. Doctors can be very understanding of dietary pleasures if you give them a chance to discuss it.
