I was going out of my mind with an itchy scalp. My dermatologist could not find a reason. I tried using Dermaleve and it worked for a few weeks. I have Grover’s Disease and it wasn’t being caused by that. What I found and it took a little while of trial and error and a bit to kick in is using Dove Shampoo Derma Scalp Dandruff and Itch Relief Formula also alternating shampoo with CeraVe Shampoo and after rinsing the shampoo out then using in Dove, derma scalp, dandruff and itch relief conditioner, and leaving that in my hair for the remainder of my shower and then rinsing it out at the last minute of my shower. I obviously wash my hair as soon as I get into the shower and I wash it every day. I have found that this has been my only salvation. Every once in a while, I will get an itch in one particular spot in my scalp, and then I will use, which sounds kind of crazy Sarna calm + cool anti-itch lotion directly into my scalp in just that one area. That seems to calm down the itch and it may not come back for maybe another two weeks, again, just in that one area. The Dove shampoo and conditioner is not that expensive so it’s not like you’re throwing a lot of money away. I hope this works for you because like I said, I was going out of my mind.

Hav you had the 5 Day Extended Patch Test to identify contact allergens?
After testing I initially used Grandma's Lard and Lye bar soap. During the soap making process the lye is converted to glycerin so you are only contacting lard and glycerin. Many castile soaps are simply plant oils like olive oil and glycerin. These soaps don't clean as well as shampoos and don't lather so soft water helps greatly in cleaning.
I've previously mentioned the safe for me shampoos I have been using for years now. For cleaning my body I love to use Kiss My Face olive oil soap but any lard or olive oil soap made with lye or directly with glycrine works great. My local grogery store sells a locally made lard and lye soap very inexpensively. They have no odor or fragrance. You don't smell the lard
I agree with you about Dove products which I had used for years before testing, After testing learned why I reacted to them.
Everyone needs to sbe aware our skin is occulsive. Meaning it transfers known allergens in these products though our skin which raise our histmine levels. Over time
our histmine army's grow trying to protect us from toxins and this leads rashes, itching, dryness and flaking and so on. As we age the reaction time to allergen's speeds up and becomes a permanent allergy. Once allergic always allergic
