It is difficult to say if injections have slowed my dry AMD/GA progression as somedays I see better than others. I have had four injections thus far. Aftermath of injections vary in that discomfort from chemicals/numbing drops, etc. involved in the process also vary. Aftermath of injections differ--some are harder to deal with and some not so hard.
Dr. tells me that photos show no change as that is basically what they go by (I think) to see where things are. Visual acuity is also checked before each injection. I can still function pretty well but it takes longer to get things done each day due to vision changes. So far I am still in dry AMD.
I encourage folks with vision problems to contact their nearest Society for the Blind as the Society offers many helpful programs and information free of charge. Anyone with any kind of vision loss can get help. One doesn't have to be blind.
