@gently - I agree that we have to research well and be discerning at a time when a population is now trying to figure out what we should of/could of done to stay on the preventative side of bone deterioration. Both of my daughters are now well informed so they are not caught off-guard and they've requested and received early DXA scans b/c of my OP diagnosis.

After much research, I told a friend who didn't want to go on Fosamax about strontium citrate. At the end of one year, she went from OP in her hips to barely osteopenia (almost in the Normal range). Now that I'm off of Evenity, I am also taking SC as well as HRT. My friend did not take any HRT. I had started HRT a few months before the last Evenity injection.

@singingbones

Are you confident that this is enough to maintain your evenity gains?

@singingbones Curious what research led you to take strontium. Everything I’ve read says that strontium is not naturally part of our bones and while it does improve your number on a Dexa, that is a false reassurance, as it does not make your bones stronger or prevent fractures.

@singingbones I really wish someone had been more proactive on putting me on HRT patch, cream or gel even when they thought it was dangerous to do that. Now, alot has changed and I am 69 and probably too old. Irritates me that physicians should be trying patients on estrogen to see how they do. I understand everyone can't do it, but it would have saved me some years. I will look into strontium citrate.
