My specialist at NJH has a different interpretation of the two versus three study. In their opinion, the study showed that three drugs is better than two at conversion, but given the conversion rates of a different study, re Arikayce as a front line drug, the third drug should be Arikayce (rather than rifampin). I have heard other specialists make similar comments recently, i.e. that the recent study results when read together support a new Big 3: azithromycin, ethambutol and Arikayce.
