Stem cell treatment for small fiber neuropathy

Posted by jwr @jwr, Mar 19, 2025

I have "ideopathic"small fiber neuropathy confirmed by punch biopsy. I believe it was caused by an unintended chronic exposure to high levels of carbon dioxide from an unvented gas construction heater.

I am considering, out of desperation because nothing else helps, stem cell treatment in Mexico. has anyone else tried this experiment?

Fran, the above is the link to their website—hope it helps 🥰
We had to fly across the whole country (from Virginia to California) but it was worth it to get our life back.

If anybody else tries Dr. Ghalili's treatment, please post about it. I just looked at his website, and I intend to check him out as soon as I recover from the pain pump surgery I just had.

You may notice in one of my responses that my husband had stem cells from umbilical chord. This was because he was 77 and did not have a lot of his own fat to use for stem cells, which is preferable if you are younger! It still worked ☺️

@sikocesca I believe it. Medicare will not cover it yet, as they feel it is still under experimental use. They used to follow Blue Cross/Blue Shield and when they’d approve it, before (Medicare) they too would approve and cover it. Time will tell.

@lzimms
Where did he go for the stem cell treatment using umbilical cord cells.
I do not think it’s done in the us and I think my own cells are too old to be beneficial.

Fran, I hope you saw the information above about Dr. Ghalili in Los Angeles. You are correct—if older, umbilical cord cells are used, not your own.
