What are some foods that he likes, then maybe we can come up with some recipes from there?

If would like to suggest those cookbooks :

"Prostate Cancer Diet" by George Wilson (Amazon has it) . Tons of recipes and very easy to make.

Also :

"Beat Cancer Kitchen" by Chris and Micah Wark - just fantastic cookbook

If you buy those two you will have hundreds of recipes that are easy to make and meals are very tasty too.

After a while you will get your own ideas and will be able to use your own old recipes with some modifications. We had Mediterranean diet our whole life so I just had to remove eggs, red meat , cheese and bovine milk, so it was easy for us.

Hope this was of some help 😊🌺

According to this webinar, more men with prostate cancer die from heart disease, and a heart-healthy diet is a prostate cancer diet. Recipes that fit the one fit the other. https://www.pcf.org/protecting-your-heart-health-during-and-after-prostate-cancer/

There’s a lot of good info here:
https://www.mskcc.org/cancer-care/patient-education/nutrition-and-prostate-cancer
If you’re a details person, and interested in all the reasons why this thing is better than that thing, you can read all the info starting at the top.

If, however, you’re like me and have no patience for all that, just scroll to the bottom and you’ll see some sample menus - not recipes, but it might point you in the right direction.

Also, don’t discount AI, that much-maligned harbinger of doom. In this case, it can be quite helpful.

You can, for example, ask it to provide a 7-day meal plan for prostate cancer survivors. Then, if you see one of the dishes it suggests that interests you, you can ask it for a recipe for that dish, and it’ll give you that.

I’ve had some good surprises with that.

Lastly, keep in mind that a PCa-friendly diet doesn’t necessarily mean the total elimination of things. If he loves bacon, he should be able to enjoy that every once in a great while (just my opinion, I’m not a nutritionist).

The Fred Hutch Cancer Center in Seattle is an NCI designated Cancer center. They have a website up: "Cook For Your Life"
https://www.cookforyourlife.org/recipes/
UCSF has a "Food Guides for Prostate Health" up: https://urology.ucsf.edu/sites/default/files/uploaded-files/basic-page/food-guides-for-prostate-health-web-2024.pdf It has a lot of info on how to handle ingredients people changing their diets may not be that familiar with.

I thought animal protein had to be minimized. Lots of protein but not so much animal protein. Meat or beef maybe 2 times a month at most and chicken and fish 2 or 3 times a week thats it. Veggies and mediteranian diet mostly.
