@jmhilde61 Hello. I came across your post because I’m going through a very similar experience.
I was diagnosed with cutaneous sarcoidosis, and like you, I have red and pink bumps on my back, arms, and legs that keep spreading. At first, my doctors also thought it was lichen planus, but after further biopsies, the diagnosis was changed to cutaneous sarcoidosis.
I’ve already tried cortisone, Plaquenil, and methotrexate, but unfortunately none of them have helped, and my skin has continued to get worse.
May I ask what treatment worked for you? Were you eventually able to get the red and pink bumps under control or clear them? I would be so grateful if you could share your experience, as I’m feeling quite discouraged and I’m looking for hope from someone who has been through something similar.
Thank you so much in advance.
I'm tagging @jmhilde61 as well so that he sees your post and your questions about treatment that helped him.
@aysecologlu01, welcome. It sounds like you've tried a lot of treatments for skin lesions from cutaneous sarcoidosis. Mayo Clinic lists a few other options. See this page:
- Sarcoidosis https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/sarcoidosis/diagnosis-treatment/drc-20350363
Dermnet also has treatments listed here: https://dermnetnz.org/topics/sarcoidosis
I can imagine how discouraging this is. I bet it is affecting how much you go out and daily life. How are doing?
