@mzpat what kind of magnesium do you take glycanate or what kind? I get low blood pressure about 90/60 that makes me dizzy for a day or two seems like it's been happening since menopause and it would happen once every month or two now it's happening once every couple of weeks after about 10 years after menopause.. the doctors just seem to push me along and not really do anything about it and I've tried the binders and the socks and everything else the only thing I won't try is the midadrine medication they wanted to put me on so I'd like to try the magnesium

HI JAYNE,I TAKE A "NATURE MADE" JUST PLAIN MAGNESIUM 250MG. I WAS HAVING PROBLEMS WITH LOW BLOOD PRESSURE. MY DOCTOR HAD ME CHECK MY SALT INTAKE. I HAD BEEN NOT USING SALT BECAUSE OF WATER RETENTION. I INCREASED MY SALT INTAKE - NOT BY MUCH- AND MY BLOOD PRESSURE IS STAYING AT 114-118 OVER 66 - 73. AND NO PROBLEMS WITH WATER RETENTION. THAT HAS BEEN FOR THE LAST 5 YEARS. CURRENTLY I AM 87 AND DO NOT TAKE ANY MEDICATIONS. I FOUND THAT A LOT OF THE MEDICATIONS CREATE MORE PROBLEMS THAN THEY HELP WITH WHAT THEY ARE PRESCRIBED FOR. I ALSO USE DRUGS.COM ON THE INTERNET. THAT SITE GIVES VERY COMPLETE INFORMATION ABOUT DRUGS.
I HOPE YOU CAN FIND A DR THAT CAN HELP WITH YOUR PROBLEM. I WENT THRU 5 BEFORE I FOUND A NURSE PRACTIONER THAT LISTENED TO ME AND HELPED.GOOD LUCKPAT On Sunday, July 19, 2026 at 04:28:16 PM CDT, Mayo Clinic Connect wrote:
