@renell I suffered with fissures for years until last year when my primary physician prescribed Nifedipine 0.02% ointment compound (only available at a compounding pharmacy). I was instructed to use the ointment with finger cots by the compounding pharmacy. My health insurance did not cover it so I had to pay just under $100 (in Canada) for it but it was worth every cent of it! I have had no problems since, and now only use it occasionally (can’t remember when I last used that ointment)!

Miralax (Restoralax in Canada) did nothing for me. I continue to use generic psyllium whole husk fibre (emphasis on “whole husk” - not just the “psyllium powder” which gels faster than you can drink it down!) from a health food store which works better for me.

As for the explosive diarrhea … if it is a recent occurrence I am wondering if you are one of the many victims of cyclospora bacteria recently affecting fruits and vegetables in the States …? A lot of Americans seem to be suffering with explosive diarrhea … just a thought …🤔
