I am 76 years female, I have never smoked in my life.
I was diagnosed multifocal adenocarcinoma lung cancer in December, 2024.
I had two VATS procedures within a year: one on March 4, 2025, and another on January 13, 2026. Pathology showed:
EGFR L858R Exon 21
EGFR A767_V769dup Exon 20 & MED12 (Y1893*)
EGFR E746_T751 delinsl Exon 19.

My doctors said no further treatment is needed. However, a 2mm nodule was found in December, and the surgeon cannot remove it.
I have an upcoming CT scan on August 6. I feel overwhelmed by these recurring nodules and don't know when they will stop, or how to make them stop.

@hch559 hi Helen, I'm sorry you're having recurring nodules. I can certainly empathize. have you heard of the Aliya pulsed electric field treatment? it's fairly new and can be a good option for nodules that can't be surgically removed. worth asking your dr about it. a few folks here have had it done with good results.

have you had a liquid biopsy by any chance? I'm wondering if you might have a genetic risk factor for lung cancer like I do. I have the T790M EGFR mutation. this led to me have 3 different lung cancers (each with its own activating mutation) at the same time. there's a team at Dana Farber in Boston that specializes in genetic lung cancer. They have an ongoing study called the INHERIT study that I imagine you would be eligible to join.
