@jomac I am my own advocate too! Perseverance is the kry! When I had an overworked DO as my family physician primary care doctor, once I turned 75, his administrators had clerks line up only wellcsre visits, for thr hundreds of baby boomers, like me, who had moved into the tourist area city, that I retired to. The end result is that me, and my problems, seemed to fall through the cracks, because the clinic was overwhelmed with many more patients, then they could handle. So, about a year ago, when I needed to talk to my primary care Doc. after being with him for 15 years, when it came time for my wellness visit, he was running late, and only had about 5 minutes for me! So, the bottom line is, that I didn’t get the chance to discuss with him, some very distressing symptoms, that I was having. Three months later, I was in a crisis, as my new Neurologist discovered. So, she ordered an urgent MRI, and blood tests, that discovered I had numerous serious problems! An EKG showed A-Fib, and blood tests revealed an immunity deficient rare disease, that required me to have I-V infusions the rest of my life! Also, I had had 2 Lacunar strokes, and it was discovered by exam that I had inflammatory polyneuropathy! So, I am my own advocate, who is looking for a different primary care provider! Good luck!
