Traveling solo for procedures

Posted by adelinahorse @adelinahorse, Aug 31, 2020

I will be traveling alone to Rochester, my husband is essential, myson away at college and other family members are high risk to travel in covid times or have small children.
For the procedures scheduled I need a responsible adult for a few hours on a few separate days.
Does anyone know of a paid very short term service or volunteer organization that might accommodate? It seems I can’t find anything or anyone online.

Hello! A procedure was scheduled at the last minute for tomorrow 1/8. I will be traveling alone due to the short notice. It is light sedation, but they are requiring me to have a responsible adult there.

Is there a service the mayo offers for this?

Hello! A procedure is scheduled for 07/17. I will be traveling alone as I don't have anyone who can travel with me at this time. It's exam under anesthesia, they are requiring me to have a responsible adult there for my discharge. I will be using sunset mobility to drop me at the hotel which is approved service by Mayo Rochester. Can someone please advice on how to proceed ?

@skotta, it sounds like you have made the necessary arrangements with Sunset Mobility to be escorted back to your hotel after your procedure. What outstanding question do you have? Is there something that is not clear about what will happen after the procedure?
