DCIS lumpectomy - 3 surgeries needed

Contradictory info for DCIS is all over the internet, on reputable sites. I opted for a lumpectomy and a bilateral reduction to fix a symmetry issue which would become even more obvious. The first doc said I should just get a lumpectomy, along with a couple women friends who had been in a similar situation. When I was considering a double mastectomy most people thought it was complete overkill. I have been soaking in all the info I can find, and some medical professionals claim it is over-treated, and is a non cancer. It is maddening. Radiation is planned but I am now having my doubts about that, and I really don’t want to take Tamoxifen which is also in the plan. One source says that the results for 5 year survival are the same with or without Tamoxifen. That is because if it comes back it is usually still treatable. I am so confused. And really hoping I have clear margins, as I wasn’t worried much about that happening until now.
