Has anyone been given Pruvicto for metastasized prostrate cancer ???

Pluvicto was designed to treat people with multiple metastasis. If you don’t have multiple metastasis, they will not use Pluvicto.

Chemo was designed to do the same thing, but it is a little harder on the body.

Radiation Oncologist recommending pluvicto 6 cycles with a PICC to be used and removed after each cycle. Is this normally done? Have others had a picc line inserted and removed the same day as the infusion?
I have stage 4 prostate cancer Gleason score (4+5), on ADT (Eligard + Osenvelt injections, finished Taxotere. PSA was 3.0 and is now rising to 6.76

@diybiker
I never heard from members that special port is needed for Pluvicto and when I Googled it was stated that regular IV is usually used since it helps nurses observe the line and what is happening with radio active material, but maybe your center uses PICC. I personally would ask why they use PICC wen it is not standard of care .

Wishing you the best of luck with your treatment and may it bring your PSA to undetectable level 🍀. Let us know how it went : )

I have never heard of Pluvicto either PICC being done. It sounds to me like you are not in the USA or Canada.

The Eligard + Osenvelt injections are another thing I’ve never heard of combining together. Osenvelt Is Denosumab which is very common to use with somebody that’s had ADT for a while and has bone deterioration. Your case appears to have metastasis to the bone and they are giving you that in order to prevent bone deterioration in those areas, As well as the rest of your body.

Eligard Should bring down your PSA, And the Pluvicto Can treat the spots that have metastasis.

Hopefully, that will give you some longer-term relief in a few sessions.

One of the biggest problem is that Pluvicto doesn’t work well for everybody, About 1/3 of people that get it don’t get any benefit. Hopefully, you are among the other group.

@diybiker this sounds like a highly unusual and unwise plan. My husband had six Pluvicto infusions in 2024 at Mayo Rochester. They never mentioned having a PICC implanted. I would think putting one in and then taking it out six times during the course of treatment would be exposing the patient to unnecessary and potentially dangerous procedures. Ask the treatment team why they propose PICCs and whether a regular IV is possible instead.
