Dx of SIBO as a result of acid reducers from use of prednisone?

I had every GI test imaginable ... stool test, colonoscopy, endoscopy, 2 SIBO tests, camera capsule, CT scans with contrast you drink, CT scans with IV contrast, and yet my then gastroenterologist never checked my bloodwork. They are no longer my gastroenterologist since I was hospitalized last September for a raging infection and a stomach virus that I got at the same time. BTW, I take 20 mg of Pepcid daily.

It’s hard to believe you go to the doctor with serious discomfort and they can’t do a complete evaluation. I expect more from doctors but apparently you have to press them to do every reasonable test for your issue. I’ve learned that I have to educate myself on health matters to advocate for myself.
So sorry you had such a horrible experience and hope you have recovered fully from your illness.
The goal is to stay healthy!
I have eliminated all acid reducers and so far so good.
Hopefully I can get to the bottom of my issue. Glad you fired your gastroenterologist!
