Tadalafil (Cialis): Any advice to manage muscle aches?

Posted by fritzo @fritzo, Mar 29 10:28pm

Hi everyone,
Ahead of surgery in three weeks, I started a low dose regimen of daily 5mg of Tadalifil . I've started getting one of the known side effects where I suffer muscle pain (mainly my thighs/quad muscles in the legs and my shoulder muscles). I would describe it as a deep muscle ache. It's annoying enough that I haven't gotten great sleep the past couple of nights. I did wake up last night and took some Tylenol and that helped.

Question: Any strategies for dealing with tadalis induced muscle ache? Does it go away? Should I switch from taking it at night to the morning?

Thanks for any advice!

Update on my update: After 5 days of no daily tadalafil 5 mg, I reported no change. However, about 10 days after stopping, my symptoms started declining. There was a peak several days back there while I was still taking tadalafil, of intermittent extremely intense pain that persisted for hours no matter what I did, i.e. sitting motionless or even lying down.

Now, instead of intermittent muscle pain extending down the front of my thigh from hip to knee, so severe I could not do certain exercises, a less severe pain close to my hip is all that is left.

I could test if tadalafil has anything to do with the fact that my symptoms have declined by starting to take the drug again. I won't be in a hurry to do that.

Yeah, that pain is not worth it! Hope Viagra or even supposed to be less side-effects Levitra will help you out.

@fritzo Find Cialis excellent apart from bad backache and some groin discomfort. But more should be said about its reaction with antibiotics

Thank you for mentioning this! I have been taking 5 mg Tadalafil for months but have also been taking maximum dose of Tylenol, so maybe haven't noticed the pain. Because of overall pain, I have just switched from Tylenol to Celecoxib. I'll be looking for your symptoms in the absence of Tylenol. I'm sorry not to have a clear solution.

@jime51 Almost six months post surgery. Started Cialis daily at 5 mg just after surgery in February. Side effects included back pain, flu like feeling and some confusion. Tried viagara and had to d/c due to allergic reaction. Dr put me back on Cialis but lowered the dose to 2.5 mg. I have been on this for about 4 months without significant side effects.
I write this to let others know that 2.5 mg daily can be effective for penile rehab. I was disappointed when I could not tolerate 5 mg dose regimen. Somehow without knowledge I “thought “ how can 2.5 mg be effective. On July 22, it will be six months from surgery date. Last weekend I had intercourse for the first time naturally, without Trimix.
Make no mistake, my erectile function is nowhere near my prior function before prostatectomy. However, I am seeing and enjoying much progress. I am confident that my erectile function will return completely. I attribute this to the Grace of God, great surgeon, Cialis 2.5 daily , VED daily , Kegels , good diet and exercise and PRN Trimix. Steady Eddie wins the race! Be encouraged!

After my intermittently intense muscle and joint pain significantly declined coincidentally with when I stopped taking 5mg tadalafil daily, I was reluctant to try taking it again.

What really finished off all the severe pain symptoms was when I increased my exercise program to 3 times a week, every other day, of 45 minutes to 1 hour of resistance training at the local YMCA, with 30 minutes of cardio on the resistance training days off.

I resumed the 5 mg tadalafil recently. I've experienced no problems at all.

@tattodice Congratulations! That is great news. I haven't been able to have intercourse or climax for the eighteen months of treatment. Taking my last Orgovyx tablet June 19, I'm hoping for a nice Christmas present, maybe! I had a painful reaction to Trimix last year so discontinued. I just started adding Viagra to daily Cialis. The combination gives a partial erection, enough for foreplay but not for penetration. My wife is patient and has a great sense of humor so we'll keep trying.
