What is a time, activity, place, etc., that brought peace/serenity?

SCUBA diving always brought me peace. I think it was because I had to stay present and the beauty of being underwater.

Yes. I snorkled st. Maartind. Here is something you should NOT do. I broke open a sea urchin to attract beautiful colored fish. They came. Along with an oversized BARRACUDA!

I guess I have an inner child ( i don't like psychobabble). I get excited see toys for boys.
At 78, I can't justify buying them, except maybe vicariously for grand children, but it's not the same.
I am now buying up Water Blaster Bazookas (sorry gun haters) . They are perfect for washing windows outside with a squeegee and no ladder .
So now i have an adult rationale, but I really enjoy filling them up and washing the car, deck, and windows. Power washer is too strong and cumbersome.
Also, the grand kids love them. Oldest (now 10) once said to me, "Well grampa, you are a little crazy."

Your post brought back memories of the good 'ol days: snorkling off Catalina Island, Kauai, Maui, O'ahu, Crotia.... ...being stung by a stingray.

Spending time quietly at the norther California coast (sea ranch specifically) or the oregon coast near Cannon beach. The wilder and stormier the better.

So stay right here 'cause these are the good old days.

Consider yourself at home. Consider yourself one of the family

This is it. Make no mistake where you are. Until it's over and done, you're going no further. There been times in my life. I've been wondering why...

Take the World in a love embrace. Fire all of your (water) guns at once now into space.

Oh! And sailing. St. Maarten again. Honeymoon. No sailing experience. Rented a little sailboat.⛡️.
Off shore breeze. Sailing out to sea Yippee. Look at me I am sailing (bill murray what about bob). Wait a minute! How do I get back to shore? Wait for the wind to turn around on shore (like Bo Derek's husband in "10")?
Turns out there is more to sailing than meets the eye. After I got towed in πŸ₯Ή, (Red face was not sunburn). I read the Glennan's Manual for Sailing. Oh, you need to come about or a jib turn and then TACK (on the verge of the luff). Lesson learned.
p.s. wife did not leave me.
