Severe nerve pain in the C2 and C3 area of your neck
Is anyone having any success in dealing with occipital nerve pain in the C2, C3 area of your neck? If so, I would like to know what you are taking for pain and is it working. Thank you for your input!

eddieboy, I use chiropractics, but it depends on the cause of the nerve pain. Have you had MRIs.
I’m so sorry that you’re in pain. I can certainly relate. I’ve been offered pretty much everything out there for similar neck pain, and since I haven’t wanted to get addicted to anything, I’ve refused the opioid type stuff. Recently, I started taking Meloxicam 15mg once a day (always with food) and it has really helped. I usually also take Tylenol with it. (This has been okayed by my doctor) l have been warned that these medications carry serious risks to my kidneys, liver and heart but since they are all healthy, and I have frequent tests to make sure they remain that way, I’m willing to take the risk. Granted, it isn’t 100% relief and it doesn’t last 24 hours, but if I take it with breakfast, I get a good enough chunk of the day to work on my farm and accomplish most of what I need to get done.
I also have been working with a physical therapist who uses the McKenzie method, which is different from any other PT program I have ever had, and this too has helped tremendously.
I wish you luck with your quest for relief and healing ❤️🩹

1 ReactionSorry you are going through this…my docs gave me very low-dose amitriptyline, 10 mg…. Take it at night, can make one sleepy…also can make you thirsty, so hydrate ! I also like a nice hot shower or a bit of heating pad on my neck/upper back.. during the day, an occasional Tylenol…my osteopath and PT are helpful as well…there are some good, simple neck exercises they gave me so I don’t get/stay stiff. Wishing you good luck !
