Im a caregiver for my husband who had a dual liver and kidney transplant in March 2026. My husbands bk virus reactivated so the drs had to take him off cellcept and he had two immune boost infusions thos week to try to boost his immune system to fight this stupid virus in his blood. Anyone else going thru this?

Hi, @ramirez0139 Welcome to Connect. I am a patient, and a recipient of a liver and kidney transplant, 17 years ago. I have not had any experience with BK virus, however, I know that it is one of the labs that I see on my annual evaluation lab tests.

Here are 2 discussions in the transplant group where members with BK experience have been active. You can go diretly to the discussions by using the links that I have posted. As a member, you can join in anytime/anywhere with question or comment:

Hi @ramirez0139
Yes, I am a kidney transplant patient that had activated BK virus too. They lowered my Cellcept. Do you know your husband's BK viral load currently in his blood (and urine if you also have that number)?
