@sueinmn the instructions that came with my altera nebulizer says nothing about boiling. It describes rinsing the parts in warm tap water, soaking in a couple of drops of clear dish washing soap, rinsing and air drying.

Your altera is a repackaged eFlow Rapid. I'd follow what they say in the instruction manual for sterilizing since nebulizers can be a source of infection. Google Pari eFlow Rapid instruction manual. I cannot upload it because the file is too large. Basically, soak in Dawn dish detergent with hot tap water, rinse in tap water, and then boil it for 10 minutes, or place in baby bottle sterilizer.
