Malignant Nerve Sheath Tumor

Hello, my name is Jessa. I'm 51 years old. I was just diagnosed with Malignant Nerve Sheath Tumor. It was in my left breast.

I had a biopsy done May 26th. It came back as High-grade malignant neoplasm. characterized by pleomorphic epithelioid cells in a background of vascular structures.

From there I was referred to a surgical oncologist, because by that time, the tumor was almost 8cm. I meet with the surgical Oncologist on June 15th. On June 25th, I had a full mastectomy, removing 1 lymphnode and a portion of my chest wall.

Today I got the call the pathology report came back as
High-grade sarcoma, morphologically consistent with malignant peripheral
nerve sheath tumor.

Ductal carcinoma in-situ

So now, I'm scheduled to meet with a medical oncologist Sarcoma Specialist on July 15.

This is all overwhelming.
Has anyone been diagnosed with MNST?

I am so sorry for your diagnosis. My husband had MPNST and was treated with radiation (SBRT not there then) and surgery. The Mayo doctors were fantastic, stayed on top of it and were always there for us. You are in good hands. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
