What's next?

I am 71 with Osteoporosis. Been on and off Alendronate since 2009 for a total of 7 years and had no difficulty taking the medication. Had Evenity in 2023 with 11% increase in spine bmd, 4% in femoral neck and 6% in hip. This was followed by Alendronate for a year to lock in the gains. Then Alendronate holiday again for a year. Seeing my endo soon and I think the plan is to stay off meds for another year. But my spine BMD went down 4% (T-score 0.7), Femoral Neck down 3% (T-score -2.9) and hip down 1% (T-score -1.8). Forearm T-scores are -2.5.

Looking for some suggestions as to what might be better than another year off alendronate to discuss with my doctor.

No one seems to comment on Jubbonti. Has anyone taken it? I am having a severe reaction from first shot.

Your lumbar spine is great! Not even osteopenia unless you meant -0.7? Even that is much better than many of us here.
Hips are very hard to improve. Mine have been between -2.8 and -3.0 for years.

It seems like you’re doing the right thing even with the drug holidays and your doctor’s watchful attitude.

Oops wishful thinking. T-score of -0.7!
