@1995victoria Hi Victoria. Not sure if chiming in on this is helpful or even appropriate but here goes. First off, no - have not tried it. But as I read your post, my first thought was that sleeping well helps a person to be able to deal with pain much more effectively than also dealing with fatigue or exhaustion. My experience has been that I can handle pain best when also well rested. I take Tramadol at night for pain (and occasionally in the daytime if I have overdone) as well as Zolpidem (Ambien) at bedtime for getting to and staying asleep. Melatonin is clearly the better choice over something like Ambien because it is more natural, has fewer chemicals, and is not subject to addiction, but as I understand it, its properties toward being a truly effective agent against pain are not certain...hence the research. Some people find Melatonin to be a helpful sleep aid, but not everyone. All this to say, I think it's sleep that gets more credit for dealing with chronic pain. Still, one has to be able to effectively access that sleep, which some nights is so elusive.
The pain from bone cancer is no small thing. May you, with the help of your medical team, be guided to whatever leaves you with the least discomfort so that your body can concentrate its energy on fighting for recovery of your health. I am praying that for you. Barb
