Many oncologists say that anyone with a platelet count above the normal range (and "normal" varies with where you live in the world) and who is 65 years or older, has a high risk of strokes and heart attacks.
The way I look at it, that MAY not be true for me personally -- but it motivates me to minimize that risk.
@gigi05 I am thankfully not prone to anxiety or depression. At least I drink and that helps a lot because it perks me up. Same with opioids so there’s a bonus reaction lol. My counts are only in the 700s and my burden is low. I think our bodies have a way of sending warnings that are bone marrow is getting tired. No telling how long we have had this issue but how interesting how different each of us are? I mean DAMN!

@gigi05 interesting! I also have allergies but according to an allergist, I am not allergic to anything. I have an epi pen because I react to stings, iodine, shellfish, and poison ivy. I was also dx with breast cancer last September 25 after my ET dx in August 25.
