How to change bag when showering without stuff spitting out?

Posted by 20chermc @20chermc, Jan 31 3:32pm

I have had a bag since 2012 & where diapers &cathing. I do not go anywhere either. Have overactive bladder. Bad cervical spine surgery. C4-C7 with cage. Laminectomy & fusions.
My biggest concern is how do people take a shower without not eating all day to do to avoid spitting out stuff either way.?

I had good luck this morning taking a shower without bag. I followed the suggestion of first thing before eating or drinking. Thanks for helpful

@20chermc (@20chermc) I guess basically I just risk having an accident, knowing that any result will just go down the drain as it does from the toilet. It's all the same system. And I do take a shower about 2 hours after I eat breakfast. I suppose that I'm just so old (and somewhat worn) that it really doesn't matter any more.

@gin64 Hi Gin! I’m doing pretty good considering what I’ve been through as you know. The tumor still there so they’re gonna have to go in there with a major surgery and take it all out and I will have pouch from now on.
It should be dying. I really appreciate what the mail has done for me and is doing.
How are you doing?
I get my surgery on 26 June. The tour has been shrunk by nearly 70%.
So it was successful!

How are you doing! Only a couple of days until your surgery. Still thinking of you and praying for you.

Hello Gin!
Other than freaking out a little bit at the prospects that lie ahead I am doing well. Occasionally, my mind wonders to places a bit overwhelming, but it’s not my norm. I’m grateful for that!
I really do thank you for keeping up with me. I don’t know your story very well, but I’m sure you can definitely relate.

Love the picture! At first I thought it was a bird on a basket but after I enlarged it I could see it was a cactus. Is the bird a flicker? Did you take the pic?
You wouldn't be normal if you didn't freak out a little before surgery. Just remember your in God's hands. Even if you don't believe in Him, (I hope you do!). you're still in His hands and I believe enough for both of us. 😉
Sorry for the religious rant. Anyway, still hoping and praying they'll get in there and find the tumor is gone! I spent 6 months with one foot in the grave. Miracles do happen!

Thank you for thinking of me. I’ve been in the hospital over a week waiting for my intestines to wake up. The surgery went very well. I’m healing nicely and feeling pretty good now that they finally put me on some IV food. It’s been quite the ordeal, but well worth it and as soon as my intestine is awaken from an 8 1/2 hour surgery, I’m sure I will be good to go home. Hope you have a great Fourth of July weekend and again thanks for the kind thoughts!

I'm so glad all is well. I hope your innards wake up soon. I know most people can't wait to get out of the hospital. I enjoyed the life of leisure and having people at my beck and call. The staff at my hospital were very sweet and attentive. I had the same attention at home but I thought it was nice to give my husband a break from his caretaker routine. Praying for a speedy and complete recovery for you!
