@hopeful33250 My mothers diagnosis was made after the first in person visit with the geriatric doctor which we were told about at the second virtual visit. Initially her health went down fairly quickly. But again, she is 83. Last summer she was walking with a can or a walker, going on train rides and camping in cabins. This summer she is in a wheelchair or her chair all the time. She needs help transferring to the commode, going from chair to wheelchair, bathing, all of it. It has been difficult getting help for my folks because they have private insurance. Both were educators and were able to keep the group rate and have Medicare through that company. However, they live on a fixed income and do not meet the requirements for state care. It is frustrating and so unfair! We are on our second round of home health care with PT, an RN, and health aid to do the sponge baths. She is taking Carb/Levo for the Parkinsonism.
