@brin we are there...! My husband just had his ninth ERCP/stents replaced in the past 11 months. It has been a very stressful journey. He is going through the many many MANY steps for a liver transplant, and while finishing up the chemo/radiation, he developed sepsis from his stents. It was SO scary. He has had infections before, but the chemo brought his immune system down so much that he crashed in a big hurry. Maybe two hours? I took him to the Mayo ER- in hindsight I maybe should have called an ambulance? I don't know. He spent four days in-patient and just got released yesterday afternoon. His team believes a transplant is his only real cure.

@terribwyo yes a liver transplant is the only real cure. I suffered from cholangytis due to septic shock and probably had 25 ERCPs over a 2 year period due to recurring sepsis with stents placed and removed about every 6-8 weeks. I received my transplant in Feb ‘22 at Mayo Jax and after some initial setbacks, have been healthy since and feel back to normal. Your husband’s bile duct damage may be the result of chemo/radiation. The liver transplant team at Mayo is amongst the best in the world, so you are in good hands. Hoping and praying for the best outcome for your husband.

@terribwyo So very sorry for what you guys are going through. I too had many issues & stress before my liver transplant. But after I received it things are improved now. Rooting that you guys can get one too. Best of luck.
