Like you at 82 was diagnosed with sensory idiopathic neuropathy and all docs could do was prescribe gabapentin or Lyrica. I took Lyrica and had so much fatigue I could hardly walk so I said "no" I will put up with the pins and needles than be so tired and be in bed all day. I searched this website and found that alpha lipoic acid really helped and a professional grade of B complex I bought at the acupuncture. It is 80 to 90% better. I wrote a note to my primary care dr about what I did and posting here to help other people. I do not have diabetes but my symptoms were the same as if I did have it. I bought the brand Source Naturals that the store recommended as they take it too. It works better if you take it on an empty stomach for at least 30 minutes. I hope this helps you so you dont have to take those awful pills. Good luck. It takes a few weeks to work so dont get discouraged.
