I have private insurance which pays for ostomy bags and supplies but I do have a copay. They do not cover the ostomy bags which are 19 dollars for 60 bags on Amazon I am not wealthy but comfortable I live on my retirement like every one else. I choose what is important to me like the disposal bags and skip on something else. This ostomy is part of my life now and I want to be as comfortable as possible I have tried many things and cut out many I no longer use rings under my pouch i found they did nothing for me I do not use skin barriers or removers since coloplast has that built in to barriers I only use skin tac and barrier strips when I go out and not at home I do take tub baths and soak my stoma The skin tac washes right off with water I keep my routine as simple as possible but that is what I choose to do Everyone has to do what is comfortable for them

@pez01 I do apologize for asking you, but when you learn what ostomy one piece appliances cost in Canada...which is where I live...you'll know where I coming from. I buy my own supplies from Payless Medical, which has the best prices I can find. From Payless Medical one piece Hollister appliances cost about $80.00 for 5 pieces. That is (if my math is correct...not my strong point) 12 times more in Canada. 12 times $19 is a considerable amount.
