How do I find a surgeon that does the LINX and also Nissan? I live in southern Oklahoma. But since I fell in June or July on my stomach. I’ve been coughing, and acid coming up the, asthma and been put on meds for asthma but that makes it worse..bad taste. But the test for acid didn’t show anything. I can’t convince the doctors to do something for me. I can’t hardly breathe and wake up choking on acid. When I can sleep. If you or anyone has suggestions I wld really appreciate it.

Try linxforlife.com and if you have it done check out :Eating After Your LINX Esophageal Surgery at nationaljewish.org. My surgeon was awesome but she's didn't give me a lot of info for post-op rehabilitation.

Go on the Linx website and Google nissen doctors near you. Then look for the same name on each

I have not lived in OK since the late 70s when we were at Ft Sill at Lawton. I remember many small towns. We had to go down into Texas to get eyeglasses. Things have changed a lot.. our last visit there was in 2008. Lawton was much bigger.

What test have you had done? What type of drs have you seen? Is it brown acid? or is it in the form of clear or white mucus? Both will burn, but the brown is worse. Does a liquid antacid.. like Mylanta or Maalox help?

I have been so busy with my mama that I have not looked at Connect very much so am behind on a lot. Still things going on with mama and I will be in and out. I will try and look through your post and see if I have some ideas other than what is posted.

I lived in OK 20 years.. At least go to Oklahoma City, OU hospital.. if you can travel go further... Houston or go to Mayo in Rochester, Minnesota. Do not lie prone when you sleep. Prop yourself up at least with a wedge pillow and a few others to a 45 degree angle for your upper body.. raising the bed Head is the best so the whole mattress tilts. Don't lay down for at least 2 hours after eating. Don't eat for 3 hours before going to sleep... Don't eat fast...chew your food really well. I had a Nissen almost 5 years ago ..it was a disaster . Mayo clinic MN diagnosed my condition as post operative Gastropaneisis.. 1 in 6 Nissens fail...
