Profuse sweating

Posted by asolidrock @asolidrock, Jun 23 8:42pm

I just started having episodes of profuse sweating at times while outside or even in cold environments
I don't have fluctuations in hot flashes much anymore; this is something totally different I meaning sweat like I'm out in the rain. Does any one have these issues.

I used to get that at night, my bed would be soaked under me. During the day, I wouldn’t have it till I had a hot flash, and I would sweat a lot.

Here are some solutions that a doctor at Mayo recommended

I found a depo-provera shot worked great, until I started with Zytiga.

I've noticed lately that I start to sweat more than normal and that it takes 15 or more minutes to cool off and stop. If I'm outside when it's not real warm I might start to sweat in a short amount of time. Almost through a meal and I start to feel warm and begin sweating. No changes to meds really other than taking Lasix/Furosemide in the morning rather than at bedtime.

I found that robust resistance-training exercises minimized all of my ADT side-effects - except for the low libido and muscle atrophy. Hot flashes became mild warm flashes.
Besides that, my ADT experience was relatively uneventful. If (heaven forbid) it ever becomes necessary, I would do it again.

Even this morning after some coffee, I noticed myself starting to warm up.

Night and day I had hot sweats interspersed between cold sweats for 6 months after stopping Lupron. I would wear a coat inside for the cold sweats that I could take off when I got hot sweats. My body temperature was totally out of control. I also feel like I have lost most of my sense of touch to my skin.

I'm so sorry to hear that I pray yours gets better and I won't complain about mine anymore. I'm just thankful for life itself

It just looks like everyone on here has different side affects of hormonal treatment . Seems like when you just about to "nip it in the bud" like Gomer Pyle used to say something else pops up. I do say that every one on here are are helpful in sharing what they are dealing with.

How you been doing? My last 5 or 6 psa levels have been undetectable ; I realize that could change but I'm thankful for today. Again, thank you for guiding me in the right direction.

@asolidrock
Good to hear you’re staying undetectable. Definitely sounds like things are working well for you.

I’ve been undetectable for the last 31 months. Get another test tomorrow and see if it’ll go to 32.

With my dodgy eyesight, I thought it said 'Profuse swearing".
Yes... that's totally a side-effect of prostate cancer.
