I bought a mesh nebulizer for travel, but found it not as powerful and I wonder about keeping it clean enough to eliminate NTM. I have Abscessus and MAC. Last trip I took my big nebulizer which I have boilable cups and mouthpiece for. Does anyone have a mesh one that can be sterilized?

@ingrid1947 Aah, the challenges of finding "the perfect nebulizer." Most of the mesh nebulizers on the market, especially the inexpensive ones, are not as powerful or durable as the compressor ones. And many of the cheaper ones cannot be boiled or steamed, which leaves us at risk for infection. Over many years, I have tried a lot of mesh nebs and each one eventually leaked, even the now-discontinued Phillips.

We finally bought (invested in) the PARI eRapid® Nebulizer System using our FSA dollars because 2 of us use it (each with our own neb heads). It is proving to be a workhorse, and the nebulizer head is easily boiled to sterilize. It is FAST, quiet & powerful, and can dispense any inhaled med. Not one issue with it in the year+ we have owned it. Medicare & most insurance plans do NOT cover it except with a limited range of specialty meds.

Previously, we used the small-compressor DeVilbiss Traveler, and we keep it as our backup.
