I was born and raised in St. Paul Minnesota and my very first home was in Anoka and ten Elk River on the Lake. Have not been home in 20 years. Attended St. Paul Central High School before they ruined the exterior of the school. What a shame
I was born in New York and lived up and down the Cancer coridor from New York to Philadelphia until I was about 27 when I came to Minnesota for graduate school to get my MFA at the University of Minnesota. I lived in a warehouse off 7th Street by the freeway in 1980, 81, 82, and 83. Spent a been a couple of years in Lake Elmo before moving north? 60 miles to Princeton where I could afford 25 acres, a house and a pole barn in which to build my glass shop. Saint Paul is going through quite a Renaissance currently and has a thriving Arts District which is currently being overtaken by the well-heeled driving the artist in North Minneapolis. God knows where they'll go next.

2wsh66 - So interested in your glass work. Where are you exhibiting now? We always go to the ACC show in St. Paul in April. The Overtaking as you describe it is happing in many places. Two of my artists moved to San Miguel de Allende in order to have enough space in which to create. Do you have a website, either your own or one like Artful Home, showcasing your work?
While I’m not old, 27, I can understand what you’re going through. I hurt my neck a couple months ago, and have been in pain that I didn’t even know existed until this point. I lost my business from not being able to work, haven’t seen any friends in 3 months from not feeling well enough to do anything. I have amazing parents but I know they are at a loss of what to do and I’m sure me complaining about being in pain is hard on them too. I feel a sadness that is all encompassing. Recently the pain has turned into upper neck spasms that radiate up into my head and face and cause the worst possible tension heache and constant throbbing head pressure. I don’t know how much of this recent pain I can endure, I have thought of moving on from this life a couple times but can’t do that to my parents and family , my mom would be devastated and I can’t do that to her. I feel hopeless and like the pain isn’t going to let up.

Ya I’ve gotten xrays, MRIs and a CAT scan, nobody can really say what is wrong with it:(. I have been seeing a chiropractor, and hoping this new head pressure/upper neck spasms will calm down and the injury will return to how it was. Neither ice or heat make it feel better.

That's too bad. I get a massage every other week. I suffer no ill-effects from it except for giant hickeys on my back from getting cupped. My masseuse is skilled and very attentive to my needs in the needs of my body. After the massage I feel about as good as I'm going to feel for the next two weeks. For several days after the massage I enjoy less pain than I usually do. if you're not used to getting massages your masseuse needs to start out being gentle and work up the pressure in the amount of manipulation they do as you go from massage to massage. you will experience some pain after your first massage if you've never had one before especially if you're old like I am. talk to your friends and get a masseuse that's worked on other people your age with similar conditions. If you have a lot of back pain it's wise to tell your masseuse to avoid your spine, at least that's what my doctor told me.
I live in Minnesota about an hour north of the Twin Cities.
