What's outside of your picture window today?
As we get ready for the real winter to show up and COVID-19 still playing a major part in our lives I like to spend moments of my day de-stressing about what's going on in the world today. All I have to do is look out the window and observe some of natures beautiful creatures, how they interact and ponder how small it makes my troubles seem. Sometimes I may even get the opportunity to take a photo or two. How about you? Anything going on outside of your window(s) that you want to share?
For those members that have the ability to size your photos before you upload them to the discussion, may I suggest using the following sizes:
– 500 x 335 pixels (landscape)
– 210 x 210 pixels (square)

@covidstinks2023 It’s sunny and 68 degrees here today. Just had a Blue Jay land earlier - up close and personal photo 😂

3 Reactions@johnbishop Beautiful Mr. John. We had 2 cardinals building a nest in my hanging baskets last year. As you know the male is a beautiful red and the female more of a brownish color.
A few days later after their busyness, a black rat snake was on my rocking chair when I opened the door very close to the hanging basket where the birds had been working.
I googled it (you know google knows everything....right? LOL) and it said that snakes study the
flying pattern of birds to see where they are building a nest. If that is true, I found that amazing. And no, I don't like snakes!
Blessings to you & family Mr. John!

3 ReactionsI had some entertainment this afternoon. There was a woodpecker trying to drink out of the hummingbird feeder, and a dove.
The funniest thing was watching a male crow attempting to mate. The female She was having none of it so she ran away and staying behind a tree. However, he decided to show off for her. She did watch from behind the tree.
Seeing her run and hide was the most fun!

4 ReactionsI love watching the birds (and now squirrels) at my feeders in the mornings and evenings. For some reason, there is a yellow winged black bird that showed up last year and is back this year. I have not seen a female, but this bird is not native to even this country. They are in South America. It is kind of crazy. I will share a picture later, when I get back home this afternoon. They have a very distinct call. I looked them up because I have never seen that type of bird. It is a black bird, with a yellow stripe on the outside of it wings and red underneath it's wings. Crazy. Not sure how it ended up in Tennessee.

1 ReactionHere is the yellow black bird. They are usually in South America so it is strange he is here. Underneath his wings is bright red, but I haven't been able to capture that in a photo yet. I also have cardinals, mourning doves and finches.
