That's why I drive 5 hours away to Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville for all my imaging and surgery You will get excellent health care with no excuse's
I have had 3 back surgeries, the first was L5-L4....one disc. Then about 4-5 yrs ago a butcher got a hold of my spine. he did one surgery and a month later the second, which he had to replace the hardware and he fused me from L5-L1. I'm 70 yrs old and have lived with back pain fir many years. I went to a neurosurgeon about 3 weeks ago and he looked at MRIs of my spine and he said your back and back muscles are trash. He asked if anyone had ever told me that I have tethered cord at the base of my spine and arachnoiditis.....I said no. He said I don't understand why they didn't do a release fir your tethered cord when they did your back fusions. I told him who did those two surgeries and he said he is a very bad surgeon and I see that this is his work. Well now they can't do anymore surgeries because he said he could not separate the scarring from the nerves. So I wonder if I'll end up in a wheel chair. I have pain, I have constipation and bladder retention and I wonder if it's too late to sue this surgeon? it's crazy! I have diverticulitis now because of constipation. I'm almost weaned off of pain meds, I'll be off next week. The Neurosurgeon told me he could do a spinal cord stimulator to help with the pain but I'm just not sure about that either, it's another surgery and I had so many different surgeries in my life and I'm just all surgeried out!
