Stomach problem

Posted by bjtobs @bjtobs, Jun 18 12:54pm

I've been having an upset stomach between meals and in the middle of the night. Also bloating starts in the morning and gets worse as the day goes on. My last meal of the day is usually before 6pm. I do take an acid reducer. don't smoke or drink. 78-year-old male. Any ideas what is causing this?

@bjtobs - I'm tagging Connect members @lotsofpain @difrnt1 @dniel5220 @linda82 @peterose, who may have input on your bloating and abdominal pain that gets a little better after you eat.

What did your doctor have you do in the plan to reduce your stomach acid? If this doesn't work, does the doctor have a backup plan that you know of currently?

Haven't been anywhere where ticks would be.

@bjtobs ticks are everywhere these days … even in your own yard!

No, they checked my gallbladder and it was fine. I have been taking Miralax for the past 6 months but have not had any problems with it before. Just the last few weeks

@bjtobs Lone star ticks are the ones that cause it also chiggers are known to transmit it as well. You can get them from your yard or if you have traveled where they are established. It takes a few months for the allergy to develop. With what we know today about Alpa Gal if you have weird GI issues it should be the first test ordered because it's the simplest and the most overlooked.
