I wonder if you can share a bit more context for your questions. How old are you?
What are your dexa scores?
Have you taken any other osteoporosis drugs before?
If this is your first drug for osteoporosis what is your doctor's rationale for starting with this particular drug and is this your PCP or endocrinologist? How much research have you already done on osteoporosis and treatment? Looking forward to hearing more.

1 ReactionZoledronic Acid is Reclast. There are many, many discussions about Reclast in this support group. Do a search for Reclast and you will find several topics. Bones change very slowly, so take time for research so you are comfortable with the decision you make.
Reclast is a bisphosphonate. Personally, I would never get an infusion of this medicine without first trying an oral form, such as Fosamax or the generic version. This is due to side effects associated with Reclast.

I just had my first Reclast infusion yesterday to help me keep the gains from a year of Evenity.
I took alendronate (another bisphosphonate) for over five years and it helped me improve my bone mineral density for about three of those years.
I’m not sure why doctors prescribe Reclast instead of an oral bisphosphonate but the goals are the same: to slow down bone loss and improve bone density.
